In the morning, we take a walk up to a lookout over the wild atop linlocke hill. Our hair is snipped as many strands as our celebrating cycle, and braided together among lilac and grasses to create a wreath. We take this time to recount the past cycle, and welcome the renewed energy of entering another. The afternoon we prepare for the evening meal, completed with an impressive sweet made of flour and sugars and oils. Often the children will craft glass charms out of sea glass and twine, as both a decoration and as a token of appreciation to the celebrated. We crack wishbones at sunset, after a large meal catered by each other. We wish for guidance and growth, rest and relaxation, and sing until we lay down for the night under the stars.
